Homemade Nilla Wafers



Make your own delicious and nostalgic Homemade Nilla Wafers with this easy recipe. These sweet and buttery cookies are perfect for snacking or dunking into your favorite beverages.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt

Add the softened butter, egg, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients

Mix until the dough comes together and forms a smooth ball

Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes

Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper

Remove the dough from the refrigerator and roll it out on a floured surface to about 1/8-inch thickness

Using a small round cookie cutter, cut out the Nilla wafers and place them on the prepared baking sheet

Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely

Once cooled, store the Homemade Nilla Wafers in an airtight container
